APRIL 2007

A resurrected mind, body and soul!

John 11:24-26 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. 25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Luke 24:6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,

Revelation 3:20-22 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. 22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

In our first text coming from John 11:24-26, we find Martha having a conversation with Jesus. While Jesus was away word was sent to him by her and her sister Mary that their brother Lazarus was sick and for Jesus to come as soon as possible. However, Jesus did not arrive until after Lazarus had been dead for 4 days. The situation appeared to Martha and Mary to be hopeless. But before everything was said and done, Lazarus came forth from the grave.

In Christ, even when things seem hopeless, we can have hope. We serve a God who specializes in impossible situations. Our job is to never give up on God’s will being done. Even when the bottom has fallen out in our lives, we serve a God that is the source of resurrections. This God can resurrected relationships, finances, and provided us with power and wisdom from the challenges and obstacles we have overcome to be a blessing to the world.

In Luke 24:6, we learn that our Savior and Lord who was crucified on a cross, suffered and died, on the third day arose from the dead. It is so good to know the grave could not hold Him! It’s so good to know we serve a risen Savior!

We are reminded in Revelation 3:20, that this resurrected loving God stands at the door of our hearts and knocks. If we can hear his voice, opened up the door, he will come in and lead and guide us to all truths.

A resurrected mind, body and soul involve believing that:

1. God specializes in impossible situations

2. If we keep the faith God will use our challenges so that He may receive the glory

3. We serve a risen Savior that sits on the right hand God the Father making intercession on our behalf

4. God’s timing is perfect, as our seniors might say, “he may not come when you want him but he always on time”

Dear Almighty God,

We are so thankful that we serve a risen Savior, one who sits on the right side of God making intercession on our behalf. We thank you for your word that reminds us of your power and great love for us. Forgive us for doubting the power of Jesus’ resurrection. Provide us with a resurrected mind, body and soul that we may glorify you in all places and at all times. Help us to believe that you have overcome death, hell and the grave. Help us to know that if we would “look up” to YOU we will have the strength to overcome all the obstacles and challenges of this life and men will see our good works and glorify You.

In the name of the Father, Son, and Blessed Holy Ghost. AMEN!
